Eleven FFA members attended the Career Ag Adventure Day in Maquoketa at the Together

We Build Center. This event was put on by the Iowa State University Extension for FFA

members to learn more about all of the opportunities in agriculture. The members got to

discover more about how technology is improving agriculture every single day. The members traveled between six different stations. They learned about drone applications, farming profitability, forestry, horticulture, calving simulation, and grain bin safety. During lunch, members had the opportunity to talk with many different colleges to learn more about their agricultural programs. The colleges they spoke with were Iowa State, Kirkwood, Platteville, EICC, and Dubuque. The members learned lots of new things as well as making many new friends. One of the many things they learned about was how drones are helping farmers all around the world. They are helping with planting cover crops in the fields and are evolving in spraying technology, as they are able to spray spots in the fields that sprayers and crop dusters can’t get to. The group of members had a great experience with every station and truly wants to go back next year and do everything all over again
