The end of the school year is drawing near, but ag classes are still hard at work. The Ag
Leadership class has been busy preparing for the final FFA chapter events. They helped run
the Lil’ Anglers Fishing Derby and planned the May chapter meeting. They and the new
officer team will be preparing for the club fair on May 19th to cap off the year. The floral
design class recently created one sided asymmetrical flower arrangements for mothers day.
Flowers are a great gift for mothers, and incorporating this fun idea into class can really help
engage learners. The senior Ag Business class finished presenting their group business plans. These plans revolve around the group creating a mock ag business including a description, resumes, and finances. These groups of 4 then presented them to the class. The Horticulture class recently planted flowers at DeWitt Bank and Trust and have been helping during the chapter’s annual plant sale. The Animal Science class recently finished their digestive system models, which can be seen hanging up around the ag room. Middle school Intro to Ag classe have been wrapping up the year by learning about ag around the world. This unit culminates in the students creating their own food trucks based on a different country and their food. With the school year winding down, classes are capping off the year with fun projects, and students are staying engaged with their learning. Have a great end to the school year FFA members!
