FFA and FCCLA Team Up at CTE Day on the Hill

Written By Adam Wilke.

On Thursday, February 19th, FFA members Taylor Houser, Kamryn Keester, and Adam Wilke joined Mrs. Grantz and FCCLA members as they went to the capitol for CTE (Career Technical Education) Day on the Hill. At the capitol, they had the opportunity to be introduced by Senator Mike Zimmer during a senate session. Following this, they were able to meet with Representative Tom Determann and learn more about his time serving in the state legislature. FFA and FCCLA members then climbed the 295 stairs to the very top of the capitol building, where they got to see amazing views of the city. FFA members then had the opportunity to sit down in an Agriculture and Natural Resources committee meeting with Representative Norlin Momsen to see the process of getting a bill onto the congressional floor. After an eventful morning, the group traveled to Big Grove Brewery for lunch before returning home. FFA members had a great time representing FFA and ag education while making a positive impact on the state legislature to support Career Technical Education.
